BIOGRAPHY
Dr. David Levett started Power Converter Consulting after 35 years of power electronics design experience in applications ranging from drives to alternative energy. Previously he was a Power Electronics Architect at Rockwell Automation. He spent 14 years working for Infineon North America as a Power Electronics Design and Applications Engineer focusing on power converters for traction, solar, and motor drives, as well as gate drives utilizing Silicon IGBTs and SiC MOSFETs. Prior to this Dr. Levett worked for Parker Hannifin and Schneider Electric, designing IGBT-based power converters and specializing in switched reluctance, servo, induction, and modular drive systems in the 5Hp – 500Hp power range, and in grid tie and vehicle traction converters.
In his role at Power Converter Consulting, Dr. Levett provides technical training, as well as conceptual designs and design reviews for applications of drives and grid-tie power converters for the solar, wind, and battery storage industries. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southampton, England.
