BIOGRAPHY

David Z. Pan, UT Austin

Dr. Pan received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from UCLA in 2000 under the supervision of Dr. Cong. His research interests include design automation for digital/analog/mixed-signal/RF ICs and emerging technologies, synergistic AI/IC co-optimization, and design for manufacturing. Dr. Pan has published over 500 research papers, held 9 U.S. patents, and served various advisory, consulting, or visiting positions in academia and industry (such as MIT and Google).

Under his instruction, Dr. Pan has 50 PhDs and postdocs holding key academic and industry positions, and have received significant recognitions such as the IEEE Fellow, DAC Under-40 Innovators Award, ACM Student Research Competition Grand Finals 1st Place (twice), Outstanding PhD Dissertation Award from ACM/SIGDA and EDAA (5 times).

Dr. Pan has received numerous awards, including the 2013 SRC Technical Excellence Award and 21 Best Paper Awards at premier EDA/chips venues.
