The Next Decade of MEMS-Driven PNT: Precision, Reliability, and Autonomy
ABSTRACT
Drawing on Analog Devices’ experience in developing and deploying high-volume MEMS gyroscopes and accelerometers, the presentation will review key architectural and design innovations that have shaped past and current inertial products, highlighting the trade-offs between performance, power, cost, and manufacturability. The talk will then explore emerging trends and future directions in MEMS inertial sensing, including tighter sensor integration, filtering, and system-level co-design approaches that extend navigation performance beyond traditional limits.
BIOGRAPHY
Gaurav Vohra is the Director of MEMS Sensor Design at Analog Devices, where he has led inertial sensor innovation since 2007. His work spans the design, simulation, verification, and commercialization of automotive, industrial, and consumer-grade MEMS gyroscopes and accelerometers, contributing to over $600 million in revenue. He serves as the Principal Investigator for SEMI’s three-phase program, “Miniaturized 6-DOF IMU with Adaptive Navigation Filter,” and is an IEEE Senior Member with 22 issued or pending U.S. patents.
