BioMEMS for Cell Engineering—The Path to Enabling the Discovery, Development, and Manufacturing of Edited Cells for Affordable Therapeutics for All
BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Lauren Otto is Mekonos's Director of Chip Realization and brings over 10 years of nanofabrication and electrical engineering experience to the team. She joined Mekonos as a Senior MEMS Engineer during their seed funding round in 2020 and has since contributed to the design, process development, and fabrication of their MEMS actuator and integrated chip, expanding intellectual property, establishing metrology, data management, and organization methods in the fab, building external partnerships, envisioning, and building the Chip Team, and promoting the equity and inclusion of underrepresented groups in STEM.
Prior to joining Mekonos, she founded Laminera LLC to focus on developing novel next generation atomic layer deposition (ALD) technology and intellectual property for the semiconductor industry yielding two filed patents. Her earlier work has yielded over 10 publications and includes titanium nitride ALD for photonics and plasmonic, near-field microscopy for characterizing hard disk drive heads (Western Digital), real-time plasmonic sensors, and dielectrophoretic modeling, quantum well solar cells, and atomic, optical, and molecular physics.
Dr. Otto holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a BS in Physics and a BA in Mathematics from Bethel University (Minnesota).
