BIOGRAPHY

Sasi Manipatruni, Kepler Computing

Sasi Manipatruni is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Kepler Computing. Previously, he served as the founding Director of Intel’s FEINMAN Center (Functional Electronics Integration and Manufacturing), where he led the development of new logic and memory technologies based on quantum materials. At Intel, he pioneered beyond-CMOS computing and built the first industrial-grade spintronic and quantum SPICE modeling platform.

He earned his Ph.D. in silicon photonics and quantum optics from Cornell University, where he pioneered the first 10–40 Gb/s silicon microring electro-optic modulators with WDM and demonstrated the first 80-km optical transmission using silicon photonics—technologies now widely deployed in GPU networking for AI datacenters.

Sasi has received the U.S. National Academy of Engineering Frontiers of Engineering honor (2019), the IEEE/ACM Under-40 Innovator Award at DAC (2017), and both the Mahboob Khan Outstanding Industry Liaison Award and the CSPIN Outstanding Industry Liaison Award (2016). He is a co-author on ~400 patents, and his work has been cited over 10,000 times, spanning electronics, photonics, MEMS, ASICs, and quantum devices.
