Daryl Hatano, onsemi

Daryl Hatano is the Vice President of Government and External Affairs at onsemi, a leader in intelligent power and sensing technologies.  ON Semiconductor’s government and external affairs program includes advocating for policies such as the CHIPS for America Act to improve the company’s business environment, facilitating internal communication on emerging government policies, and engaging with external organizations including trade associations, universities, and Non-Government Organizations.

Prior to joining ON Semiconductor in 2011, Mr. Hatano was the Vice President of Public Policy for the Semiconductor Industry Association, with responsibilities for the association’s international trade, legislative and workforce strategy programs.  SIA’s international trade program included opening Japan’s market in the 1980’s, eliminating European semiconductor tariffs in the 1990’s, and working with the Chinese, Chinese Taipei, European, Japanese, and Korean industries through the World Semiconductor Council.  Mr. Hatano joined SIA in 1983.

Mr. Hatano has an undergraduate degree in political science and economics from the University of California at Davis, a Juris Doctorate from the U.C. Davis Law School and a Masters in Business Administration from U.C. Berkeley’s Haas School of Business Administration; and is a member of the California Bar.  Mr. Hatano is currently on the boards of directors of the U.S. Information Technology Office in Beijing, and the Foundation Board of Trustees for the University of California at Merced.
