Lessons Learned From Component and Sub-System Shortages and Impact On Environmental Sustainability

ABSTRACT

The Covid-19 Pandemic created significant challenges to the global supply due to health impacts to workers, country level lock downs, restrictions on travel, and transportation and logistics operations. In this presentation, will cover the short-term negative impacts to our supply chain environmental sustainability efforts during the Pandemic and the long term lessons and opportunities for Applied Materials to strengthen our supply chain sustainability goals, relationships with our suppliers and our Success 2030 and Supplier Diversity programs.

Scott Hambleton, Applied Materials

Scott Hambleton has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University and is the Managing Director of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) at Applied Materials. Applied is the leader in materials engineering solutions used to produce virtually every new chip and advanced display in the world. At Applied Materials, our innovations Make Possible® a Better Future. 

Scott has been with Applied for 22 years and has been the Head of EHS and Product Safety for the past 11 years. Prior to being the Head of EHS, he had roles in risk management, facilities, sustainability, solar and parts cleaning business operations and corporate EHS at Applied. He has thirty-six years of management and technical experience in EHS, Sustainability, Product Safety, Fire Protection, Facilities, Risk Management and Project Management in high technology, manufacturing, and other industries. When not striving for an Incident and Injury Free safety culture at Applied, Scott enjoys fishing, boating, and spending time with his family
