Geoff ShippeeGeoffrey Shippee is a Vice President, Engineering at Qualcomm Inc.  In his current role, he is responsible for: IP security for all RF, Analog, and Enablement technologies for digital SOC design; Qualcomm’s corporate level IP management framework and systems; Engineering operations and management of development and partnerships developing Foundry Enablement IP; Engineering Analytics  efforts to identify and work on remediation programs impacting engineering efficiency.

Prior to Geoffrey’s current responsibilities,  he left Qualcomm for 3 years to serve as CTO at a fintech startup, where he was responsible for development and bringing to mass production a battery powered credit card with programable magnetic, EMV, and contactless support meeting all industry standards receiving Visa approval for commercial deployment.

During his 27 year career, primarily at Qualcomm, Geoffrey has primarily been focused on semiconductor engineering,  major areas of responsibility over his career include: end to end development of Qualcomm’s Wifi as well as it’s other connectivity IP, development of Qualcomm’s first smartphone SOC devices - eventually leading to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SOC, and starting and development of Qualcomm’s first GSM/GPRS solution used as a core IP enabling key products needs in 3G UMTS markets.
