Vision and Mission of NBMC
Abstract
The mission and vision of the NanoBio Materials Consortium (NBMC) will be discussed along with an overview of impactful activities from the past year. The NBMC Internship Program will be highlighted along with lessons learned and success stories. Results from the latest NBMC Request for Proposals (RFP) will be reviewed with a summary of the Technical Gap Analysis Workshop that helped shape the RFP. Lastly, the recent workshop on Navigating the Healthcare Revolution will be reviewed along with the initiation of the Smart MedTech Governing Council as a commercial venue to bridge the gap between the semiconductor and life science disciplines by leveraging artificial intelligence technologies.
Biography
Stephaney is the Division Director for the Integrative Health and Performance Sciences Division of UES, a BlueHalo company, in Dayton, OH, and is also currently serving as the Industry Chairperson for the NanoBio Materials Consortium. Stephaney is a microbiologist and evaluated biosensor technology for the Army for nearly a decade while at the Center for Biological Defense before joining UES in 2013. She has authored several peer-reviewed manuscripts and a book chapter on the topic of rapid detection for national security. Stephaney joined UES with an initial focus on methodologies for rapidly detecting biomarkers for human performance and disease monitoring. She has collaborated with groups across the US on this topic and is passionate about developing technologies and methods that work in real-world environments. Since joining UES, she had led contracts worth more than $200M.
