Beyond Buzzwords – Real Strategies for Supporting Women’s Success
What practical steps can companies, leaders and individuals take to drive meaningful progress to empower women and foster greater inclusion? Strategies include debiasing hiring and promotions processes, inspiring and equipping employees to create a greater sense of inclusion, practice allyship and enable managers to positively influence careers and team culture, as well as developing flexible work schedules and support for caregivers. Biographies:

Jennifer Braggin, Director, Technology, Office of the CTO, Entegris
Jennifer currently serves as a member of Entegris’ Office of the CTO. Her two-decade career includes impactful roles in engineering, technical and product marketing, and management, where she has consistently driven improvements in semiconductor manufacturing yields, spearheaded innovative training programs, and effectively communicated technical achievements to a global audience. Highlights from her career include being Entegris’ first imec assignee and being recognized for her contributions to the semiconductor industry with the inaugural SEMI Foundation Excellence in Achievement Award in 2021.Jennifer is also an enthusiastic educator. As a Senior Lecturer at Tufts University’s Gordon Institute, she inspires young engineers through her courses in engineering management and leadership. Jennifer earned an M.S. in engineering management from the Tufts Gordon Institute, where she was awarded with the program's outstanding student award. She also holds an M.S. in engineering science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a B.S. in materials science and engineering from Lehigh University.

Daniel Drellich, Managing Director & Sr. Vice President of Business Partnering , EMD Electronics
In these roles, Dan is leading the HR, IT and Procurement organizations to develop and execute our vision on business support and collaboration globally, as well as overseeing our Electronics goals and strategies in the US. Dan also leads the Electronics Enabling Functions Council, encompassing the Communications, Controlling, HR, IT, Legal and Procurement functions within Electronics, aiming to foster collaboration across teams and support both people and business growth within the company. To establish even higher standards across the enterprise, Dan is also executive sponsor of the Women’s Success Network ERG and a member of the Electronics DICE Committee (Diversity, Inclusion, Community, & Equity). Dan has over 16 years of experience at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany in roles of increasing leadership responsibility at EMD Millipore, Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany Electronics and EMD Electronics. With more than 23 years of experience in HR. Before joining Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, he spent over seven years in human resources at Raytheon. He holds a BA and MS in Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell University.

Kathleen Dunn, PhD, Professor of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, University at Albany
Kathy works at the interface between physics, chemistry, and engineering – because the rules that govern atoms don’t care about the artificial boundaries humans draw between scientific disciplines. Her research includes BEOL copper and “beyond copper” materials, hybrid bonding, and chemical mechanical planarization slurries. She offers courses in semiconductor materials engineering, phase equilibria, and nanoscale characterization. She has won the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, the SUNY Polytechnic Institute Women Who Inspire Award, and the UAlbany Bread and Roses Award for Promoting Gender Equity on Campus. Kathy participates in a number of outreach activities to increase the recruitment and retention of groups traditionally under-represented in science and engineering, including public speaking, hands-on demonstrations, and week-long "chip camp" events for high-school students and public school teachers.

Alex Oscilowski, President, TEL Technology Center America
Alex serves as president of TEL Technology Center America (TTCA), TEL’s largest research and development center outside Japan. The company’s primary mission is to engage with global customers, partners, and higher education to enhance research and development of semiconductor production equipment and manufacturing processes. Alex has forty years of international semiconductor expertise in business development, R&D, manufacturing, operations, customer relations, marketing, and strategic planning. Prior to joining TEL in 2008, he served as Chief Operating Officer of Rudolph Technologies, managing the worldwide business and operations for metrology & inspection software and equipment. He has also held several positions at International SEMATECH, including Vice President of Strategy, Chief Operating Officer, and Director of Advanced Technology. Alex led DFT MicroSystems and Kulicke & Soffa Industries, serving as President of each organization for several years.

Shari Liss, VP of Global Workforce Development and Initiatives, SEMI Foundation (moderator)
Shari is responsible for driving the SEMI Strategic Initiatives for Workforce Development. Specifically, she provides leadership to the SEMI Foundation with sustainable programs that attract and fill the global electronics industry talent pipeline. Shari joined SEMI from Ignited, where she was the Chief Executive Officer. At Ignited, she recruited, trained, and placed more than 400 educators in summer fellowships at top companies for transformative professional development that grew the Bay Area’s STEM talent pool and workforce pipelines. Prior to Ignited, Shari piloted an alternative high school for at-risk students, taught college calculus, and developed mathematics programs to serve both gifted and challenged students in the Bay Area. She was also named a Woman of Influence in 2017 by the Silicon Valley Business Journal for her long-standing service to the education and nonprofit communities. Shari received a Bachelor of Science, in Mathematics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a Master of Science, in Mathematics from the State University of New York at Albany.
