Associate Director, BD Peripheral Intervention Ideation
Alex currently has responsibility for driving ideation within three key disease states, lower extremity vascular disease, end state kidney disease, and oncology along with investigating strategic adjacencies. Alex has over two decades of experience in the medical device industry. His extensive work history includes a trifecta of experience in marketing, sales, and research & development. Alex has over 10 U.S. patents. He holds a BS in Chemistry from Arizona State University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
Alex started his career in 1997 as a microbiologist for Bard Peripheral Vascular and after one year transitioned into an engineering role. His primary engineering responsibilities included designing and developing covered stents and a delivery system for inferior vena cava filters. In 2005, Alex moved into a sales consultant role for Becton Dickinson Medical Surgical Systems selling intravenous catheters, anesthesia trays, scalpels, flush syringes, injection needles, and sharps collectors. In 2009, he became a Neuro Specialist for Codman, a Johnson & Johnson Company, selling neuro implants, electrosurgical, opening, closure, and neuro critical care devices. In 2012, Alex transitioned into a marketing role working for Bard Peripheral Vascular, now BD Peripheral Intervention. Alex started his marketing career focused on the angioplasty balloons and progressed to an ideation role in 2017.
