Hari Jayaram, Applied Materials

Hari Jayaram is corporate vice president and head of Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions and Support at Applied Materials, Inc. He is responsible for infrastructure strategy, planning, execution and global support including data center operations, network services, enterprise mobility, service desk, and client services.

A veteran of the IT industry for more than 20 years, Mr. Jayaram brings experience spanning global logistics and high-tech manufacturing and has continuously embraced new challenges in infrastructure services and business enablement, driving many initiatives to enhance collaboration, user productivity, engineering efficiency, and infrastructure reliability. He has led IT transformations, operations, mergers and acquisitions, program management functions and enterprise managed services. Under his direction, his team has successfully delivered a number of significant accomplishments including the on-time integration of Varian’s infrastructure with Applied; the move to Computer-Aided Design in a private cloud, which was recognized with CIO’s Intel Premier IT Knowledge Award and CIO100 Award; strategic sourcing of infrastructure operations support; consolidation of the company’s global data centers; and expansion and optimization of Applied’s global IT network spanning 200 network sites.

Prior to joining Applied in 2006, Mr. Jayaram led Global Infrastructure architecture for DHL Worldwide and delivered strategic programs reaching more than $250 million.

Mr. Jayaram holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Bangalore University. He is an active participant in local Texas and India charities and serves on the board of directors of the Central Texas Food Bank.

He was named one of Computerworld’s 2015 Premier 100 IT award winners for exceptional technology leadership and innovative approaches to business challenges. Moreover, the Applied Materials IT organization has been named one of Computerworld’s 100 Best Places to Work in IT ten years in a row.
