Director of Energy & Sustainability Policy, APAC Corporate, External & Legal Affairs (CELA)

Will leads energy and sustainability policy for Asia-Pacific at Microsoft. His work focuses on scaling clean electricity fast enough to support industrial growth, digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence without locking in new emissions.

Across the region, he works with governments, regulators and industry to advance structural energy market reform. His focus spans three areas: expanding access to carbon-free electricity to accelerate supply chain decarbonization; strengthening the sustainability and resilience of datacenter infrastructure; and shaping how AI can support grid modernization and more efficient energy systems.

Earlier in his career, Will advised governments and businesses across Europe, Asia and Africa on low-carbon strategy, regulatory reform and sustainable infrastructure. He previously worked at McKinsey & Company and the Carbon Trust.

Will holds a Master’s degree in Physics from Imperial College London, and a Master’s degree in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge.
