Elsa Chi Abruzzo, RAC, FRAPS, is the CEO and President of Anuncia Medical, an early commercial-stage company specializing in CSF management and neurocritical care. Anuncia intelligently delivers noninvasive, lifesaving therapy and monitoring from hospital to home, improving patient outcomes with breakthrough solutions.
The company’s FDA-cleared and Breakthrough Device Designated ReFlow® Mini Flusher is already transforming shunt occlusion prevention, while the ReFlow® EVD, also Breakthrough Device Designated, is set to launch in 2026 to enhance external ventricular drain management.
To further advance care, Anuncia is developing a noninvasive, wearable remote monitoring system licensed from Arizona State University (ASU), integrating intracranial pressure (ICP), cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow, and brain compliance measurements. These innovations aim to revolutionize how hydrocephalus and neurocritical care patients are monitored beyond the hospital setting.
An engineer by training, Elsa has over 35 years of experience in medtech, working with both Fortune 100 companies and startups. She is a recognized regulatory and clinical expert, having led the commercialization of disruptive neuro devices, in vitro diagnostics, electrophysiology, and neuromodulation technologies, including the first transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) device. She has contributed to five FDA Breakthrough Device Designations and is also an angel investor, mentor, and advocate for medtech startups.
