EHS 2007 Interest Group Meeting: ROHS and REACH

2007 EHS Interest Group Meeting: RoHS and REACH: New Environmental Challenges in a Global Business Environment

RoHS and REACH are fundamentally different from traditional command-and-control environmental legislation that has gone before. These European directives are driving de facto.world standards that have strategic implications for the semiconductor and allied industries, which depends on access to a wide and growing range of chemicals.

What have we learned about these strategic implications and how to manage them from our RoHS and REACH experiences so far? What opportunities and challenges do these changes present to the prepared company and industry? How should the role of EHS managers change to adapt to this new situation? After all, neither RoHS or REACH are anywhere near running their course yet, and after them are the EuP Directive and, in all likelihood, legislation addressed at energy conservation and climate change.

The meeting was held on Wednesday, July 18th, 2007 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the San Francisco Marriott Hotel as part of SEMICON West 2007.
