By Dean Chang, SEMI Taiwan

It has been over 10 years since the last Chinese (Traditional) translations were published. With the number of semiconductor companies growing in China, these translations have become increasingly necessary. Therefore, in order to satisfy the expectation of users and promote SEMI Standards and Safety Guidelines, SEMI’s Taiwan EHS Technical Committee (TC) Chapter decided to translate a number of SEMI’s Safety Guidelines into Chinese (Traditional) at the start of the year.

With the efforts of Taiwan EHS TC Members, SEMI published several Safety Guidelines in Chinese (Traditional). Detailed information is listed in the table below.

SEMIViews

Many of the SEMI Safety Guidelines that were translated into Chinese (Traditional) were minor revisions except for SEMI S2, S18 and S26. In SEMI S2, there were three paragraphs added into the new version: §18.8 (regarding high altitude operations), R18, and §23.5 (regarding sampling method). In SEMI S18, almost all of the content has been revised and in SEMI S26, A6-3 was added.

SEMI Taiwan will announce the new translations during the SEMI Standards Summit held on December 5, 2019. In addition, a special thanks will be announced to the translators who spearheaded the activity. The hope is that companies will find these new translations beneficial for new EHS department employees.
