High Resolution 3D Cameras
From autonomous vehicles to augmented reality, it is essential to be able to capture and understand the real world around in 3D. Autonomous vehicles need to see cars and trucks, but they also need to see motorcyclists, bicyclists, pedestrians, small children, small animals, tire carcasses, and ever smaller objects. For augmented reality, knowing the shape and position of all surfaces in the scene is the difference between a satisfactory experience and one that is lacking. Providing depth or 3D location with as high of resolution as 2D photographs has the potential of changing how LIDAR is viewed on a broad scale. TetraVue's optical time-of-flight (oTOF) technology enables that high resolution 3D capture using 2D CMOS image sensors to add depth at every pixel.
