Semiconductor Talent Exchange Meet-up (STEM) is about building a community of young engineers (1st to 7th year) to understand about our industry mega-trends and therefore growth in the future. SEMI will be giving a presentation of the semiconductor industry outlook and also the future technology affecting the industry. At the same time SEMI will be launching a mentorship program for engineers to help develop their skill-sets and affiliation to the industry. The mentorship program is a means also to encourage engineers retain-ment to the industry.

The Bar Station at ARC

What is STEM?
Talent shapes our industry. Innovations in any industry is fueled by the creativity and ideas of people More importantly the sustenance of an industry hinges on influx of new participants as well as keeping existing talent capital in the industry. Sadly, we are not doing very well in both of those areas. Nowhere is more true than for the semiconductor industry today. Decline in engineering course enrolment and engineering talent shortage is detrimental for our semiconductor industry that is characterized by sheer human ingenuity.
In the industry that SEMI has been known to be a strong advocate for talent development, there is never a time more critical than now for more to be done. SEMI is answering the call to action from our members by putting workforce development a top priority focus and is rolling out industry wide programs.
