In 2005, the SEMI Pacific Northwest Steering Committee founded a scholarship program for high school seniors pursuing degrees in the semiconductor-related fields. In the first three years of this exciting program, 7 scholarships have been granted in the amount of $2,000 each. High School applicants must be on track to graduate from high school in Idaho, Oregon, Washington or Utah. For the 2007/2008 academic year, 3 scholarships will be awarded to qualified candidates.

Scholarship recipients must satisfy certain eligibility requirements as follows:
- Applicants must be high school seniors or have accumulated sufficient credits to qualify for senior level status
- High school applicants must have cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better at their graduating high school or approved institution.
- Applicants must be pursuing a major such as, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or an Education degree with a focus on teaching math or science.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents of the U.S.
- Applicants must demonstrate financial need by submitting a copy of the FAFSA
- Applicants must demonstrate their passion for technology and related disciplines via volunteer activities, leadership experience, extracurricular projects, participation in programs such as High Tech U and FIRST Robotics Competition
