Karen Hooper is a Latin America analyst for Stratfor – handling economic, political and security-related issues in the region. Ms. Hooper monitors
emerging economic and political trends in the region's largest countries, including the ongoing security situation in Mexico, the political turmoil in
Venezuela and the increasing fragility of the Argentine economy. 

Ms. Hooper has been with Stratfor since 2006, and has been a Latin America analyst since May 2008. She has been featured in numerous
broadcast and print media, including USA Today, National Public Radio, Platts and CBS Radio Los Angeles.

Ms. Hooper holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Lewis & Clark College in Portland,OR and a master's degree in international affairs with a focus on Security Studies at the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University in Washington, DC.
