Quarterly market information on fabs worldwide
Semiconductor fabs play a vital role in the semiconductor industry. Over the years, there have been sizeable investments in the building of these complex fabs. In the next few years, additional fabs will be built to increase the capacity to accommodate growing demand for semiconductors.
According to the February 2008 issue of FabFutures, as many as 22 new fabs will begin volume production in 2008 of which 8 will be 300 mm fabs. Several of these are fabs with monthly capacities of more than 50,000 wafers per month (wpm).
As more of these wafer fabs are built information is needed to analyze the investment requirements, construction spending, equipment spending, first silicon, volume production, and upgrades/expansion.

SEMI fab database reports deliver the latest trends on fabs worldwide and are ideal resources to empower your market research. Identify target customers and analyze both investment and technology trends with a comprehensive and dynamic range of information designed to help meet your market research needs faster and easier than ever.
The database includes front-end fabs and foundries such as TSMC, UMC, Chartered Semiconductor, SMIC, Samsung, Intel, AMD, Toshiba, Micron Hynix, Powerchip, Texas Instruments, Renesas, Inotera, Elpida, STMicro, Fujitsu, NEC Electronics, ProMOS, Nanya, Matsushita, NXP, Winbond, IBM Micro, Sharp, Freescale, Infineon, Spansion, Magna Chip, X-Fab, and more…..
Fab Database Reports
This comprehensive fab capacity database contains over 1,000 records and features details by company and by fab in over 12 categories (including capacity ramps, geometries, wafer sizes, product types and regions) and covers three years – the past six quarters and projecting the next six quarters.
The report also includes capital expenditure of fabs equipping and of fabs with construction projects.
The full version of FabFutures contains over 200 records and features details listed by company and by fab in over 34 categories (including major construction and equipment spending, capacity ramps, geometries, product types, wafer sizes, and key milestone dates) and covers two years – the past two quarters and projecting the next six quarters.
The LE version of FabFutures is an extract of the full version of FabFutures and contains over 200 records in 21 categories (including an interactive bar chart, which links directly to the fab details per quarter for each milestone) and covers two years – the past two quarters and projecting the next six quarters.
Fab Construction Monitor is a subset of the full version of FabFutures and focuses specifically on fab construction expenditures. Fab Construction Monitor contains over 100 records and features details listed by company and by fab in over 27 categories, (including theoretical full capacity, product type, and fab construction expenditures around the world) and covers two years – the past two quarters and projecting the next six quarters.
Fab Equipment Monitor is a subset of the full version of FabFutures and focuses specifically on fab equipping expenditures. Fab Equipment Monitor contains over 150 records and features details listed by company and by fab in over 24 categories (including capacity ramps, geometries, product type, wafer size, and fab equipping expenditures around the world) and covers two years – the past two quarters and projecting the next six quarters.
World Fab Watch provides a snapshot of the previous quarter for all worldwide fabs and contains over 1,000 records and features details in over 42 categories.
