SEMI Releases Q2 2015 Worldwide PV Equipment Market Report: Book-to-Bill Ratio at 1.58
For Q2, bookings increased 166% quarter-over-quarter; increased 57% year-over-year
The worldwide photovoltaic manufacturing equipment book-to-bill ratio was above parity at 1.58 for the quarter ending June 30, 2015. Worldwide bookings, which represent net new orders for PV manufacturing equipment, improved 166 percent in Q2’15 compared to the previous quarter and were up 57 percent year-over-year. Worldwide billings increased 49 percent in Q2’15 versus Q1’15, but Q2 billings were down 27 percent on a year-over-year basis.

On a regional basis, billings grew the most (145 percent) in the Americas region, also increasing in Europe and Asia (quarter-over-quarter). Asia remained the largest regional market with 60 percent of the total quarterly billings.
The worldwide PV equipment billings and bookings data is gathered jointly with the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) from about 50 global equipment companies that provide data on a quarterly basis.
