Internet of Things and how we manage the Complexity of Networks
Internet of Things is here and by 2025 we will have over 50 billion devices connected through our networks today. Today’s networks are not scoped to manage the surge in traffic and while we define the standards, devices and sensors that will surround us, we need to ensure that we are scaling the backbone of this infrastructure. Smart car, smart homes, connected health care will all drive new requirements in latency, scalability and above all reliability. Two emerging mobile technologies, 5G and LTE M will play a strong role in this evolution and the industry today is defining standards so we can find ways to provide this enormous connectivity and operators can play a significant role capturing the exciting opportunities with IoT.
