SEMI Arizona Fall Breakfast Forum - 200mm: Thing of the past? Not so fast!

Friday, October 17, 2014
7:30 AM-11:00 AM
Freescale Semiconductor, Inc. 2100 East Elliot Road, Tempe, Arizona, 85284

Presented by the SEMI Arizona Steering Committee

200mm fabs are thriving!  200mm wafer shipments to fabs in 2014 are experiencing tremendous growth compared to 2013.  The challenge for 200 mm fabs in the secondary equipment market continue to be balancing quality, cost, extendibility, service and support.

Those in the semiconductor industry know that a productive fab can never rest on its laurels.  Whether it’s improving equipment throughput or repurposing tools for a whole new product, fabs are continually finding ways to deliver more.  This rings especially true for mature facilities today.

Secondary semiconductor equipment addresses both environmental and cost concerns within the industry. The secondary equipment market size has experienced continuous growth over the past three years. In 2012 the market size was estimated to be around 3 billion US dollars, with 200mm wafer capturing 90% of this market.

According to Semico Research, about 40% of all silicon wafers used to produce semiconductors are processed using mature manufacturing technologies. Over the past several years, mature fabs have been instrumental in delivering products for sensor technology, wireless connectivity, and smart lighting.  Legacy tools along with new process technology are enabling smartphones and the Internet of Things.

Please join ASML, Freescale Semiconductor, OEM Group, ON Semiconductor and Semico Research as they showcase productivity improvements, production innovations, new applications and tools, pioneering materials and innovative processes that continue to enhance and to extend the production life of 200mm wafers.

SEMI Arizona Breakfast Forum is a great opportunity to network with your colleagues and meet other local industry professionals.
