SEMICON Europa in Grenoble Enriched with New Segments

By Anne-Marie Dutron, director general, SEMI Europe Grenoble Office

Good news for Europe! This year’s SEMICON Europa 2014 will be held in Grenoble, France, on 7-9 October for the first time.

The Grenoble region has a long history in Microelectronics with constant investments in Research and Manufacturing for several decades.  Grenoble, as one of the Top 5 most innovative cities in the world (according to Forbes), will initiate the new SEMICON Europa rotation and extended scope strategy. The show has been enhanced and will cover the entire electronics value chain: from semiconductor manufacturing technologies to electronic systems applications (starting its focus with 4 main application fields strong in the Grenoble and European ecosystems).

The 2014 edition will showcase a broader array of materials, technologies, products, solutions and opportunities spanning the most exciting developments in European micro and nanoelectronics.  Bringing new applications, new devices, and new manufacturing technologies together, SEMICON Europa will be dedicated to accelerating an increasingly wide range of products, including power electronics, sensors, organic and flexible electronics, imaging devices, bioelectronics and healthcare, Security and other exciting new technologies — many of which are emerging from the innovative companies (SME’s, Start ups and large International Groups) in and around Grenoble.

The Conference programs will be also enriched with new conferences about Energy Efficiency (Low power and Power Electronics), Imaging and Innovation practices.

These new technologies and markets represent new opportunities for equipment, materials, components, systems, and services companies.
