Jim is the Technology/Media/ Telecommunications Equity Research business unit leader. He also covers the Semiconductor Devices and Semiconductor Capital Equipment sectors. Jim joined Goldman Sachs in 2000 and was named managing director in 2004 and partner in 2008. Jim became the lead Semiconductor Capital Equipment analyst in 2001 and assumed coverage of the Semiconductor Devices sector in 2005. He has also served as the deputy business unit leader of the Technology sector since 2005. In this role, Jim has been instrumental in leading the team in developing investment processes. During his tenure at the firm, Jim has also led significant commercial successes. Prior to joining the firm, Jim worked in the Investment Banking divisions of SG Cowen and Smith Barney.
Jim earned a BA from Georgetown University, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He later earned his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, where he graduated as a Tuck Scholar.
