Bryan J. Rice, Ph.D.
Dr. Bryan J. Rice is the Sr. Director of R&D Transformation at GLOBALFOUNDRIES. Dr. Rice, 45, received his B.S. in physics and an M.S. in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1991. He completed his doctoral work in 1998 at Duke University in nuclear physics. He began his career with Intel in 1998 where he worked on a variety of technologies integral to the manufacture of semiconductor products including lithography and metrology. He was Director of Lithography at SEMATECH from 2008-2011 where he created the EUV Mask Infrastructure (EMI) initiative, a program which has since been used as the model for industry wide collaboration in the funding of expensive infrastructure. With GLOBALFOUNDRIES since 2013, he is tasked with improving R&D efficiency and effectiveness.Dr. Rice is the author or co-author of more than 50 publications on lithography and metrology. He holds sixteen United States patents.
