The SEMI Austin Steering Committee, in collaboration with Texas State University, invites the microelectronics community to an Open House at the STAR Park in San Marcos, Texas.  As an emerging research university, Texas State University has developed unique capabilities in applied research supporting creation of new semiconductor materials, production process development, formulation of research polymers and nanomaterials.   Texas State is committed to partnerships with private industry through focused Research Service Centers and simplified collaboration agreements.  Participants will meet key University personnel involved in delivery of services, see unique core facilities available for cooperative efforts and learn about new initiatives providing tomorrow's technology workforce.

The half-day event begins with an optional tour of STAR One, followed by an overview of STAR Park and presentations on key programs.  The morning continues with a tour of the MSEC Research Center, and concludes with a luncheon with STAR Park representatives and Texas State University students.  Registration is free.  The event is limited to 30 attendees.   Click here to download a detailed schedule and directions.

STAR Park is a research park that creates an environment to foster commercialization and entrepreneurship, with a goal to create new opportunities and new companies. We want to see the university more engaged in activities that add to its traditional mission of research and education.
