Global Leaders Convene at LED Korea to Discover, Learn and See the Latest Manufacturing Innovations

SEOUL, Korea — January 14, 2013 — Leading manufacturers and suppliers of LED products, equipment, materials, and manufacturing technologies will convene at the 7th annual LED Korea 2013 from January 30-February 1 in Seoul, Korea to discuss the latest trends, technologies and business opportunities in LED manufacturing.  Over 500 exhibitors with the latest products and solutions, plus thousands of attendees from Korea’s leading LED manufacturers, will join conference speakers from OSRAM, Philips, Bridgelux, Veeco and more in one of the largest exhibitions and conferences in the world dedicated to LED technology and manufacturing.

The global LED market is anticipated to exceed $13 billion in 2013, driven by continued double-digit growth in solid state lighting.  Global manufacturing capacity will grow 24 percent in 2013 with Korea continuing a leading position, representing over 15 percent of the world’s production capacity. LED manufacturing technologies are in a period of innovation and transition as the market shifts from scale investments to yield improvements, and contemplates new technologies such as GaN on silicon and new package types and materials.  LED Korea will address these changes through a comprehensive exhibition featuring leading suppliers, and the two-day LED Korea Conference where the latest manufacturing trends, developments and solutions will be discussed.

Co-located with SEMICON Korea 2013, both events will feature over 500 exhibiting companies from 20 countries and more than 45,000 attendees.  LED Korea will feature a two-day technical conference to present the latest perspectives on LED manufacturing technologies, materials innovations, advanced packaging solutions, and more. On Wednesday, the market session presents an LED industry overview, China SSL market outlook, and LED and Solid State Lighting Standardization issues in the U.S. Technical sessions will also be held on substrate developments, yield and binning advances from Philips Lumileds, and developments in Korean and university research and government development programs.  Thursday programs feature manufacturing technology presentations from Bridgelux, Veeco Instruments, SEMES, Laytec AG, WOOREE ATEC, KOPTI, Synopsis, and Ehwa Womens University

An LED Korea Reception as networking event is an excellent place to connect with leading executives and experts, and maximize business opportunities.
