Wayne M. Mitchell

Wayne M. Mitchell was appointed vice president and general manager, Electronics, in July 2011. He is responsible for advancing and implementing the global strategy for Air Products’ Electronics business.

Mr. Mitchell joined Air Products in 1988 as European sales and marketing manager when the company acquired Anchor Chemical Group PLC in Manchester, England. In 1989 Mr. Mitchell relocated to the U.S. where he was named business development manager for the Chemicals Group. He became North American business manager–epoxy additives in 1991 and general sales manager for the Performance Chemicals Division in 1994. In 1998 Mr. Mitchell was appointed regional vice president and general manager–Chemicals for Air Products Asia, Inc.
and subsequently relocated to Hong Kong. Mr. Mitchell returned to the U.S. in 2001 where he was named assistant general manager–Performance Chemicals and president–Air Products Polymers, a former joint venture with Wacker-Chemie GmbH (Munich, Germany). In 2003 he was appointed vice president and general manager, Performance Materials Division, and in 2009 was named vice president, Global Business Support Services.

Mr. Mitchell was born in 1953 in Rotorua, New Zealand. He received a B.S. degree from the University of Christchurch, New Zealand in 1974.
