Call for Papers Deadline Extended to October 22 for CSTIC 2013; New Session Announced

SHANGHAI, ChinaOctober 15, 2012 — SEMI announced today that abstracts for paper presentations are still being accepted for the CSTIC 2013 exhibition, which will be held March 17-18, 2013 in Shanghai, China, in conjunction with SEMICON China 2013. In addition, a new session, “Circuit Design, System Integration and Application” was announced. Last year, the highly successful annual event featured 100 technical lectures, 300 speakers, nearly 1,000 attendees and keynotes from Prof. Leo Esaki, Nobel Laureate and IBM Fellow; Dr. Kinam Kim, Samsung Fellow, president and CEO of Samsung Institute of Advanced Technology; and Dr. Luc Van den hove, president and CEO of IMEC, Belgium. CSTIC currently has just a few openings remaining for abstracts on semiconductor technology and manufacturing; the deadline is extended to October 22.

CSTIC is the largest annual semiconductor technology conference for the industry in China — providing an enabling platform for executives, managers, engineers and researchers to exchange the latest developments in semiconductor technology and manufacturing. It also offers opportunities for those who are interested in investing and collaboration in the semiconductor industry in Asia, particularly in China. The event is organized by SEMI and ECS and co-organized by China's High-Tech Expert Committee (CHTEC). It is co-sponsored by IEEE, MRS and China Electronics Materials Industry Association.

Confirmed CSTIC 2013 plenary speakers include: Prof. Ivar Giaever, Nobel Laureate and professor, RPI, USA; Dr. Ghavam Shahidi, IBM Fellow and director of Silicon Technology, IBM, USA, who is also the father of SOI technology. CSTIC features 10 symposia covering all aspects of semiconductor technology and manufacturing, including: Device Engineering and Technology; Lithography and Patterning; Dry & Wet Etch and Cleaning; Thin-Film Technology; CMP, Wafer Substrate Polishing and Post-Polish Cleaning; Materials and Process Integration for Device and Interconnection; Packaging and Assembly; Metrology, Reliability and Testing; Emerging Semiconductor Technologies; Advances in MEMS and Sensor Technologies; Circuit Design, System Integration and Applications.

Original and overview papers from integrated device manufacturers (IDMs), materials suppliers and equipment vendors as well as academic and research institutes are encouraged. Abstracts of approximately 200-500 words and a brief speaker biography are due October 22. The abstract should clearly detail the nature, scope, content, organization, key points and significance of the proposed paper and presentation. The abstract template is available on the conference website.
