The first 40 years since the introduction of the microprocessor have seen dramatic changes in the evolution of computing and its impact on the world.  What will the future bring?  Bill Holt, Senior Vice President, General Manager of Technology and Manufacturing at Intel will highlight technology trends, economic drivers and the benefits of collaborative efforts in innovation.  As the goal for device scaling becomes more driven by cost and power, the importance of new materials and new structures grows as devices become more heterogeneous.  The results of these efforts in the semiconductor industry will enable continued progress and growth in the evolution of computing.
