From Process to Profit: New Dimensions of Growth in the Semiconductor Industry

Industry Leaders Convene at ISS 2012 to Address Critical Trends and Developments

The SEMI Industry Strategy Symposium (ISS) has been the premier senior executive forecast and planning forum for 35 years.  With the “triple threat” of FinFET, EUV and 450 facing the industry— during a period of uncertain economic growth— at no time during this long history have the issues, challenges and opportunities on the horizon been more daunting or complex.  Underscoring the historic milestones that are fast approaching, ISS 2012 has assembled one of the most prestigious speaker and attendee rosters in its long history.

To be held on January 2012 from January 15-18, 2012 at the Ritz Carlton Resort in Half Moon Bay, California, this year’s ISS has been integrated with the Strategic Materials Conference for a more focused, streamlined agenda on the strategic subject matter essential to all sectors and supply chain elements in the micro- and nano- electronics ecosystem.

As in the past, the ISS agenda will proceed from an examination of the macro-economic, financial environment, through 2012-2013 industry forecasts, to a critical examination of the critical trends, issues and developments facing every senior leader in the industry.  In addition to the rich perspectives provided by industry leaders, technologists, analysts and investors during the formal agenda, attendees will also benefit from the legendary hallway chatter and networking opportunities that make ISS a “must attend” for speakers and attendees alike.

This year’s ISS will feature panel discussions on 450 mm wafer transition and a “Streetviews” panel discussion on how investors are assessing the new dynamics facing the industry.  During the ISS banquet, Stan Myers, recently retired SEMI president and CEO, will be honored for his many years of industry service and accomplishment.  Honorees of this year’s SEMI Award for North America will be announced at the ISS banquet, recognizing enabling technical contributions by individuals and teams to the microelectronics industry.

ISS is the first opportunity in 2012 to obtain a comprehensive overview of these issues— and to discuss them with key industry stakeholders in a premier executive forum.

ISS is made possible by the  ISS 2012 Organizing Committee— co-chairmen Kevin Lally, strategic marketing manager, Tokyo Electron America, and Michael W. Wright, president, Applied Global Strategies— who organized the agenda and direction for the upcoming conference.
