Members Convene to Learn and Plan at the SEMI Shenyang Summit
Over 70 industry experts from technology companies attended the recent SEMI Shenyang Summit & 2011 Shenyang Member Day, which was held in conjunction with the quarterly FPD Industry Gathering. The event took place on July 3-4 in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. Organized by SEMI and the Shenyang Municipal Government, the event was supported by the Liaoning Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance for Semiconductor Equipment Industry (LNTISAS) and the Science and Technology Bureau of the Shenyang Hunnan New District. Attendees networked and learned more about key industries, with the goal of expanding business opportunities.
Attendees at the unique event shared the latest global and China industry information about four key industries— semiconductor, flat panel display (FPD), solar/photovoltaics (PV), and light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The event also introduced members to the value of the industry platform that SEMI provides in terms of access market research and information, industry events, standards, and advocacy.
The two-day schedule included:
- A sightseeing and visiting tour in Shenyang city
- SEMI Shenyang Summit & Member Day with outlook of four industries—Semiconductor, FPD, PV, and LEDs. In addition, SEMI outlined key services for members in 2011
- Welcome Dinner hosted by Shenyang Government
- Golf Tournament
In addition, attendees visited the Hunnan High-Tech Park and four typical Shenyang semiconductor equipment manufacturers (out of the 75 companies in the park). SIASUN Robot & Automation Co., Ltd. and Shenyang Fortune Precision Equipment Co., Ltd. are just two of the four companies who learned more about the value of SEMI and decided to become SEMI members during the two-day event.
During the Member Day Summit, SEMI members networked with other guests and Shenyang local companies. They learned about the “Introduction of Shenyang Industry,” the SEMI China Community, and also SEMI events, including SEMICON China, FPD China, and SOLARCON China 2012. Many topics were covered, including highlights, the industry outlook for Semiconductor, FPD, PV and LED. Another activity featured “SEMI Members’ Experience Exchange” and sharing by VP of Tokyo Electron (Shanghai) Limited.
The Deputy Mayor of Shenyang Municipal Government, Mr. Yazhou Yang, interviewed Mr. Allen Lu, SEMI China President and SEMI Global vice president, as well as other VIP members. Critical topics were discussed regarding industry development in the region and the need for continued cooperation.
