“Call for Papers” Open for Plastic Electronics 2012

BRUSSELS, Belgium — May 2, 2012 — SEMI has announced the “Call for Papers” for technical sessions and presentations for the upcoming Plastic Electronics Conference 2012 which takes place October 9–11 in Dresden, Germany. Technical presentation abstracts are due May 31. SEMI acquired the Plastic Electronics Conference (and Exhibition) in February to enhance SEMI member value and to advance the related industries in the field, and the event has co-located with SEMICON Europa since 2010.

The Plastic Electronics Conference brings together worldwide expertise with leading global research scientists and top-class industry partners. The program will include a plenary forum with panel discussions including representatives from IAPP, BASF, and Aixtron among others; as well as three parallel sessions organised during three consecutive days embracing Technology/Materials and Manufacturing and Business Cases from OLED, Flexible PV and Integrated Smart Systems. The event features more than 100 lectures from prominent experts recognized for their outstanding industry achievements.

Abstracts for paper presentations are now being accepted for:

  • OLED’s for Display and Lighting: Are we ready for mass manufacturing and targeted for main stream business? Are the parities for display areas also expected for OLED lighting?
  • Flexible and Organic PV: When will flexible solar energy enter end-user markets and facilitate grid-linked solutions? What opportunities and barriers are expected?
  • Integrated Smart Systems: What is the new class of applications and products we expect to arise and be enabled through heterogeneous production technology? What opportunities and barriers are anticipated?

Prospective presenters are invited to submit abstracts (200-400 words). Material must be original, non-commercial and non-published. Abstracts must clearly detail the nature, scope, content, organization, key points and significance of the proposed presentation.  The abstract should also contain the main author contact details like job title, company, address, telephone and e-mail. Please send the abstract with a short speaker biography by e-mail to europrograms@semi.org, indicating in the subject line of the e-mail: “OLED Plastic Electronics Call for Papers,”  “Flexible PV Plastic Electronics Call for Papers” or “ISS Plastic Electronics Call for Papers”.

For more information about the conference or submitting abstracts, including guidelines and requirements, please visit www.plastic-electronics.org or contact Mireia Garcia (mgarcia@semi.org), SEMI Europe Tel. +32 2 6095334.
