Six SEMI Members Receive TI Supplier Awards
Texas Instruments (TI) announced 13 recipients of the company's 2008 Supplier Excellence Award (SEA) in Dallas on April 7. Six of these recipients were SEMI members. These top suppliers were nominated from TI's worldwide supplier base of over 14,000 companies. They were evaluated across several criteria, including: cost, environmental responsibility, technology, responsiveness, assurance of supply and quality.
"Our suppliers play an essential role in helping TI solve customers' problems through innovative products that are making the world smarter, healthier and greener," said Rob Simpson, VP of Worldwide Procurement and Logistics at TI. "In today's economy, it's more critical than ever for TI to help customers get to market fast with their offerings at a low total cost. We appreciate the exceptional efforts of these SEA recipients and value they provide through the highest standards of quality and performance."
The SEMI members who received the 2008 TI Supplier Excellence Award are:
- Applied Materials, Inc., AGS Division, Applied Global (capital equipment)
- Deliotte Tax LLP (worldwide tax advisory services)
- Ibiden Company (nfBGA substrates)
- SUMCO Corporation (silicon wafers)
- Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd. (chemical resist)
- Tokyo Seimitsu Co., Ltd. (assembly and probe equipment)
For 26 years, TI has honored businesses that deliver superior service and support through the SEA program. The annual awards serve as a key vehicle for communicating standards and expectations to companies that supply materials, equipment and services to TI.
