SEMI Europe PV Standards Meetings at EU PVSEC
The SEMI-EPIA Photovoltaic Technical Committee Meeting was held September 2008 during the EU PVSEC conference in Valencia, Spain. A common thread throughout the meetings was the need to coordinate PV standardization activities with the rest of the world in order to streamline work and to collaborate more closely with EPIA and their members. Other highlights included:
PV Standards Roadmap Update
Bettina Weiss presented an update of the current activities related to the global PV Standards Road Map. The goal is to have a high level guidance document completed by December 2008, and the roadmap itself ready by July 2009. (View presentation.)
PV Standardization Survey - Additional Feedback
SEMI will contact PV standardization survey respondents to get more feedback on metrology/lifetime/geometry standards needs. SEMI will also coordinate with EPIA members to get their feedback on the list of standardization topics
The three existing PV Standardization surveys from Taiwan, Europe and North America will be reviewed to determine the three main topics for potential areas of standardization in Europe.
Guide for PV Equipment Communication Interfaces
The committee decided to ballot document 4557: "Guide for PV Equipment Communication Interfaces" in Cycle 7. This will allow the committee to get immediate feedback on the document. Intercommittee (lilac) ballots will be distributed to the I&C Committee and Metrics Committee.
