Outlook for Future of IC and Microelectronics Manufacturing Focus of Keynote at 20th Anniversary SEMICON China

Exposition Includes Seminars and Workshops Covering EHS, Finance, IC Design, Standards and Nanotechnology

SHANGHAI, China – February 26, 2008 – SEMI today announced the agenda for the 20th anniversary edition of SEMICON China, which will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC), located in the high-tech manufacturing center of Pudong, on March 18-20. The three-day exhibition and technical symposium will focus on semiconductor manufacturing technology, and features a keynote session that will offer perspectives on the future outlook and trends for the industry.

Launched in 1988, SEMICON China has become the premier semiconductor manufacturing industry trade show in China, showcasing the latest in advanced manufacturing technologies, and offering a wide range of technical and market briefing programs focusing on the latest trends in semiconductor industry. Featuring more than 765 exhibitors occupying more than 2399 booths, SEMICON China is the largest exposition of its kind in China.

Building on the success of last year’s event, the exposition will present a comprehensive set of topics through its exhibition, keynote addresses, executive panels, technical and business forums and full-day technology conferences. Program and event highlights include:

  • SEMICON China 20th Anniversary Opening Keynotes Session
  • International Photovoltaic Technology Conference
  • 2008 SEMICON China Shanghai IC Design Technology Symposium on Wireless and Low Power Applications
  • 4th Annual China Customs and Export Controls Seminar, and many others.

Global technology leaders converge on SEMICON China 2007 to focus on new technologies and critical issues and challenges shaping the future of semiconductor manufacturing. Sessions will feature distinguished keynote speakers and informative panels comprised of top industry luminaries, and include the CEO Wafer Processing Technology Forum, Test CEO Summit and the MEMS Symposium, among others.

The SEMI International Standards Workshop, being held on March 18, will provide an overview and discussion on environment, health and safety in global standards for the semiconductor industry. Any extra session will be co-located with the PV Technology conference, and will discuss the progress of standards in the global PV industry.

SEMI, along with the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA), will host a session on low power design on March 19. This event will offer up-to-date information on design tools and technologies.
