SEMICON China 20TH Anniversary Celebration Continues through Introduction of Semiconductor Museum and SEMICON China Mascot

Press Conference Discussing Show and Chinese Industry to be Held October 18, 2007

BEIJING, China – October 18, 2007 – The 20th anniversary celebrations for SEMICON China continue. SEMICON China 2008, which will take place March 18-20 marks twenty years for the exposition, and in observance of this milestone, SEMI China is holding a number of events throughout the year.

Since 1988, SEMICON and the Chinese semiconductor industry have experienced strong parallel growth. From 100 booths the first year to the current 1920 booths sold already this year, SEMICON China has become the prime semiconductor trade show in China.

New additions to commemorate the 20th anniversary celebration include:

Semiconductor Museum

To acknowledge SEMI members and show exhibitors contributing to the growth of China IC industry over past two decades, the Semiconductor Museum serves as a free showcase, demonstrating each process the semiconductor manufacturing supply chain, as well as the milestone of China's flourishing market. Visitors can see the Semiconductor Museum as their first stop to SEMICON China 2008. The museum is a unique resource which features virtual training opportunities and a wide variety of technological innovations.

SEMICON China 2008 Mascot

As a souvenir to commemorate the grand celebration, JING-JING will serve as the official mascot of SEMICON China 2008, carrying a message of good wishes to the China IC industry and to the companies responsible for its growth. The Chinese character JING literally means “brilliant, clever, and clear,” in addition to “silicon wafer,” used in semiconductor manufacturing. JING-JING is a rhyming two-syllable name that is a traditional way of expressing affecting for children in China.
