TOKYO, Japan – July 2 2007 - Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) and Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ) today announced open registration for the co-sponsored event “Industry Strategy and Technology Forum 2007”(ISTF 2007), which will be held September 4–5, 2007 at Pacifico Yokohama in Yokohama, Japan. Those who are interested in attending the event may register at http://www.istf2007.org. Visitors will learn valuable information on current and future semiconductor equipment and materials.
ISTF provides semiconductor and FPD industry professional with the opportunity to obtain comprehensive, up-to-date information on global industry-focused technologies, as well as numerous networking activities. To keep the semiconductor and FPD industries well-informed for future growth, both SEMI and SEAJ are putting significant effort into bringing all elements of the industry into this forum, including device; equipment, parts and materials manufacturers; R&D consortia; colleges; and municipal corporations. This event is the largest of its kind in the world, and is dedicated to offering a forum for valuable and constructive discussion among companies in the industry.
ISTF 2007 is expected to accommodate nearly 2,000 visitors from the semiconductor and FPD industries, and the main theme will be “A new trend of Semiconductor Industry – Diversification of applications and business.” During the first day of the event, there will be a wide range of keynote speeches and business strategy sessions, as well as a networking reception. On the second day, the conference will feature 11 sessions focusing on industry-specific manufacturing technologies, engineering roadmaps, equipment strategies, and FPD and market trends.
Keynote speakers include Mark Liu, senior vice president, Operations II, TSMC and Shun-ichi Amari,. director, Brain Science Institute, RIKEN. Featured speakers in the business strategy sessions include, Shiro Baba, Board Director, executive general manager, System Solution Business Group, Renesas Technology Corp, Toshio Mii, director, Technology Alliances, Semiconductor R&D Center, Systems & Technology Group, IBM, Susumu Sato, president, NEC Yamagata, Ltd., Susumu Kohyama, president and chief executive officer, Covalent Materials Corporation and Toshikazu Umatate, operating officer, general manager of Development Headquarters, Precision Equipment Company, Nikon Corporation will take part in topical panel discussions around the theme “Business model for Japanese logic semiconductor company - How to make most efficient product with profit based on technology.”
