Third Annual Solar Exhibition SOLARCON Returns to India in 2011

In 2011, the Leading Solar Technology Show SOLARCON India Takes Place in Hyderabad on November 9-11

SAN JOSE, Calif. and BENGALURU, India – December 8, 2010 – SOLARCON® India 2011 will be held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) on November 9-11, 2011. This year’s SOLARCON India 2010 drew more than 4,200 visitors from India and abroad representing industry, government, academia and end users. The event, supported by the Government of India (Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, MNRE and Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency, IREDA) and Government of Andhra Pradesh, attracted wide media coverage across the national press, business journals and television.

Building on this year’s successful show in Hyderabad, SOLARCON India 2011 will continue to present the leading event for the solar manufacturing industry guided by India’s top solar industry leaders: Applied Materials Ltd., Moser Baer PV India, Oerlikon Solar India, the Renewable Energy Action Forum, Solar Semiconductors, Tata BP Solar India, Titan Energy Systems and others.

“SOLARCON India 2011 offers a superb opportunity to learn about the latest solar/PV business and technology trends. Attendees explore the huge opportunity in India, with opportunities to network with top experts from the solar PV eco-system and visit leading companies on the exhibition floor,” said Bettina Weiss, executive director of the PV Group at SEMI. “And, it continues to be the place to innovate. In 2009, SOLARCON India hosted the first environment, health and safety (EHS) workshop in India; and in 2010, the first SEMI International Standards session addressed the need for quality standards, testing and certification.”

SOLARCON India 2011 will continue to focus on the implementation challenges of the National Solar Mission (NSM), which has set an ambitious target of 20,000 megawatts (MW) of solar generated power by 2022 and aims to establish India as a global leader in solar energy. The conference will provide a platform for all stakeholders in the entire PV manufacturing supply chain to come together and discuss real-time challenges, potential collective solutions as well as opportunities in implementing the NSM. It will also give an in-depth view of the India solar/PV market and help connect Indian and global business/technology leaders.

In addition to offering PV stakeholders an opportunity to discuss challenges and opportunities, the exhibition portion of the event focuses on the PV manufacturing supply chain and latest developments in innovation and technology. SOLARCON India brings together a highly influential audience with 87 percent of attendees involved in purchasing decisions. Organized by SEMI India and PV Group, SOLARCON India is the only event that reinvests its revenues into programs and services that support the growth and expansion of the solar/PV industry in India.
