Whether you're a veteran attendee or new to the show, you could always use a little extra guidance to navigating SEMICON West. How do you get to San Francisco and what do you do once you get there? The following hints and suggestions will hopefully make your visit to The City and SEMICON an easy and enjoyable one.

Get your game plan together: Use networkNow! to build your show schedule

networkNow! is the official online search engine and scheduling tool for SEMICON West 2010. Like the previous SEMICONNECT service, networkNow! allows you to search the entire SEMICON West community of companies, products, people, and events by keyword or category and add your bookmarks to a personalized show planner. You can also use the built-in networking tools to send meeting and information requests to exhibitors as well as other attendees who match your search criteria. Take your plan with you: Go mobile with chirpE

Once you have built your schedule—or even if you don't plan at all—you can access the same information from networkNow! on any Internet-enabled smartphone via chirpE. chirpE is a robust portable search and map tool directly connected to the SEMICON West networkNow! system, meaning you can perform searches and map exhibitors and events from your phone anywhere you have a network connection. Seeing Sites and Xpots: Navigating the technical stages at SEMICON West

There are more than 200 hours of technical and business sessions during SEMICON West, with many of those sessions taking place at one of the four free presentation stage areas at the show. You don't need to worry about whether you're visiting a TechXPOT, a TechSITE, Extreme Electronics, or the Keynote Stage—all you need to know is how to find the right place.


TechXPOT – Location: North Hall, Aisle 5400
Sessions focused on packaging, advanced wafer fab processes and materials, and lithography

TechSITEs – Locations: North Hall and South Hall
The TechSITEs are smaller technical presentation stages on the show floor, and feature a wider variety of topics and sessions

TechSITE South—Location: South Hall, Aisle 1700
Sessions on secondary equipment, productivity, automation, SEMI traceability standards, CMP, and junction technology


TechSITE North—Location: North Hall, Aisle 6100
Sessions on semiconductor test, co-design and 3D IC deployment, precious metals, and plasma.


Extreme Electronics—Location: South Hall, Aisle 2500
Sessions focused on MEMS, energy applications, high-brightness LEDs, and flexible/printed electronics

Leave the driving to us: Getting to San Francisco and Moscone Center

Silicon Valley residents can leave their cars in San Jose and take the easy route to San Francisco by hopping on the SEMICON West Silicon Valley Shuttle. Buses depart on show days (Tuesday, July 13 through Thursday, July 15) from the SEMI Global Headquarters offices at 3081 Zanker Road in San Jose, every half hour from 7:30am to 11:00am (from 7:30am to 10:30 am on Thursday, July 15), with return service to San Jose departing Moscone Center from 3:00pm to 7:00pm (2:00pm to 5:00pm on Thursday, July 15)
