SEMI Pacific Northwest Steering Committee Scholarship

The SEMI Foundation and the Pacific Northwest Steering Committee of SEMI are excited to be offering three $2,000.00 scholarships that may be awarded to High School seniors for the 2008/2009 school year.

The SEMI Pacific Northwest Steering Committee has developed a Scholarship Program for high school seniors pursuing degrees in high technology fields. Applicants must have attended and be on track to graduate from high school in Idaho, Oregon, Washington or Utah to be eligible. The scholarship awards can be used at colleges or universities within the United States.

Scholarship recipients must satisfy certain eligibility requirements as follows:

Applicants must be high school seniors or have accumulated sufficient credits to qualify for senior level status

 

Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at their graduating high school or approved institution

 

Applicants must be pursuing a degree in a high technology related curriculum upon entrance to college, such as Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, etc. and must be attending a college or university in the 2008/2009 academic year

 

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents of the U.S.

 

Applicants must demonstrate financial need by submitting a copy of the FAFSA report

 

Applicants must demonstrate their passion for technology and related disciplines via volunteer activities, leadership experience, extracurricular projects, participation in programs such as High Tech U and the FIRST Robotics Competitions

 

Applications and all required supporting documentation must be postmarked by March 15, 2008 to be considered
