In October 2008, SEMI acquired SEC/N®, the Surplus Equipment Consortium Network, to support members and the global secondary market for semiconductor equipment.SEMI will now provide both the forum and leadership so companies can confidently participate in an open, informed and professional secondary market for equipment and services.
Under the direction of a new SEMI Special Interest Group-- Secondary Equipment, Services and Technology Group (SESTG)-- secondary market activities will be integrated with other SEMI programs, events, products, and initiatives. With this new special interest group focused on secondary equipment, SEMI hopes to further advance the SEC/N agenda and provide better support to members and their customers.
