The Industry Heats Up; Get Ready Semiconductor industry capital spending growth forecasts for 2010 range from 60 percent to 90 percent or more. Finally, a break for the semiconductor equipment and materials markets! According to the SEMI Consensus Forecast, the North American equipment market is expected to top $4.4 billion in 2010. Intel, IBM and GLOBALFOUNDRIES anticipate significant spending increases in advanced chip geometries and 3D IC technologies, while emerging markets in MEMS, LEDs and flexible electronics are expecting breakthrough record years...(more)
