Oral History Interview: Dick Dryden
Inteviewed by Craig Addison, SEMI

You could say that Dick Dryden put the “clean” in cleanrooms. For more than 40 years he was the “go to” guy when anybody built a new fab in Silicon Valley. In the latest SEMI Oral History, Dryden tells his story.

The Age of Megafabs—Where Size Really Matters
By Christian Gregor Dieseldorff, Senior Analyst, SEMI
Production fabs are getting larger. An increasing number of fabs with 60,000 wpm or more capacity will shape regional trends. In 2007, Japan will lead the way with new Megafab capacity coming on-line followed closely by Taiwan.

February 27—Webcast on China-RoHS
If you export products subject to China RoHS, don't miss this webcast! SEMI will update you on the latest news on the regulations that will go into affect on March 1. Also, learn from a case study and participate in the Q&A session.

Solar PV Market is on Fire
With oil prices, government incentives, and renewable energy expectations fueling the rapidly expanding global photovoltaic (PV) market, SEMI introduces the new PV-Fab Managers Forum.

Nanowire Applications and Production Methods
Current sales are limited to R&D but a range of products are expected in a few years. Good progress made controlling nanowire growth using a variety of methods.

Nominations Open for the 2007 Akira Inoue Award
Each year, the Akira Inoue Award is presented to the most exceptional individual in our industry who inspires EHS leadership and business performance. Find out more about how to nominate someone for this prestigious award.

European Microelectronics Market Diverse and Growing
Europe accounts for over 278 production and research fabs. This report provides details on fab location, contacts, products, technologies, manufacturing facilities, and financial information. Order before March 31 to receive a promotional launch offer. A sample report is available upon request to clee@semi.org.

SEMI to Submit Comments to SEC and PCAOB on SOX Guidance
SEMI is working on comments to submit to the SEC and the PCAOB on the recently proposed changes to Section 404 guidance for the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the corresponding auditing standard.

Korea FPD Working Group Receives Full Technical Committee Status
